Just canceled my U-Verse TV service -- the family decided to go without. We decide that most of the shows we love to watch -- "Battlestar Gallactica," "The Office" and "Family Guy" all come on Hulu.com. So why pay for cable at all?

Also, I just hooked up my digital converter box -- unfortunately, I had to pay $50 for it because my $40 coupon expired after 90 days. Doh! Should've read the fine print. Anyhoo, all of the broadcast channels came in crystal clear (except for PBS, guess they haven't made the switch yet) plus a few other stations. Watched a few minutes of "McCloud" on the Retro TV channel.

It's a brave new world, and I'm living in it.
